Designed for use with The Proxy, Big Ear unlocks your bluetooth and AirPlay speakers to be used as wireless intercoms and room monitors. A simple interface lets you easily pick your audio broadcast destination and set the volume to a comfortable level. On the Room Monitor screen, switch things on and your phone will begin recording and broadcasting audio clips to the selected audio destination. From the Intercom screen, hold down the talk button, speak your message and let go. Once the talk button is released, your message is broadcasted through the selected audio destination. Features you’ll love about Big Ear:
- Stealth Mode blacks out your device screen while room monitor continues to broadcast.
- Send your last Intercom message to anyone as an email attachment.
- Support for all Airplay speakers and paired bluetooth speakers.
- Optimized for use with The Proxy.

Big Ear does not broadcast a live stream of audio. It first records and then plays the audio file through the selected output route.

Great
Works with all my Bluetooth speakers.
Simple. To the point. It works.
Im using this as an intercom to broadcast my voice to my AppleTV across the house, and it works great! Lets be honest. This is pretty sweet when waking up in the morning to kids arguing loudly.
Love it!
Super handy tool. Love being able to take advantage of my existing AirPlay setup. Do yourself a favor & download this app right now.
Good deal
I was looking for a "live" iPhone mic app to use through bluetooth speakers, but all apps I found have the hold-button to record with delayed playback. This does this well and is cheaper then the rest.
Not a good room monitor. Does not record and play simultaneously
This app cannot record and play simultaneously. That mean while in room monitor mode, if you select 3 seconds, you record for 3 seconds and then playback for 3 seconds and repeat. So you miss half of the conversation! Whats the use of that?
